Family & Pediatric Chiropractic

At Carrion Chiropractic, the whole family is welcome. I've been treating families in Tucson for over 20 years — parents, grandparents, teenagers, and young kids. Some families have been coming to see me together for years. It's one of my favorite parts of this work, watching families take care of their health together.

Chiropractic Care for Children

A lot of parents are surprised to hear that children can benefit from chiropractic care. Kids are incredibly active — they run, jump, tumble, and play sports. All of that activity is great for their development, but it also means they take a lot of bumps and falls. Minor spinal misalignments can happen early and often go unnoticed because kids don't always complain about discomfort the way adults do.

Pediatric chiropractic care is extremely gentle. I use the Activator method with children because it's light, precise, and completely comfortable. The amount of force used on a child is a fraction of what's used on an adult — about the same pressure you'd use to test the ripeness of a tomato. Kids usually find it completely painless, and many of my young patients actually look forward to their visits.

Parents bring their children in for all sorts of reasons — posture concerns, recurring headaches, growing pains, scoliosis screening, and recovery from sports injuries. Some families just make it part of their routine wellness care, the same way they'd go for dental checkups.

Whole-Family Wellness

One of the things patients tell me they appreciate about our clinic is how easy we make it to bring the whole family in. You can all come together — mom, dad, the kids, even grandma — and we'll take care of everyone. We're a walk-in clinic, so there's no juggling multiple appointments on different days.

Every family member gets individualized care. A teenager dealing with sports-related back pain has different needs than a parent with desk-job stiffness or a grandparent managing arthritis. I tailor the treatment to each person's age, condition, and comfort level. And our office dog Blue has been known to make even the most nervous first-time visitors feel right at home.
