Sciatica Treatment
Relief from sciatic nerve pain through gentle chiropractic adjustments that address the source of compression.

If you've ever felt a sharp, burning pain that starts in your lower back and shoots down through your buttock and leg, you know how debilitating sciatica can be. It can make sitting uncomfortable, walking painful, and sleeping nearly impossible. At Carrion Chiropractic Clinic, I've helped hundreds of Tucson patients find real relief from sciatic nerve pain over the past 20 years — and I can help you too.
What Is Sciatica?
Sciatica isn't actually a condition on its own — it's a symptom of something else going on in your spine. The sciatic nerve is the largest nerve in your body, running from your lower back through your hips and down each leg. When something puts pressure on that nerve — a herniated disc, a bone spur, spinal stenosis, or a misaligned vertebra — it can cause pain, numbness, or tingling anywhere along the nerve pathway.
Most of my sciatica patients describe the pain as a burning sensation or an electric shock that travels from the lower back down into the leg. Some folks feel it as a dull ache, while others experience sharp, shooting pain that makes it hard to stand up from a chair. You might also notice weakness in the affected leg or a pins-and-needles feeling in your foot.
How Chiropractic Care Helps Sciatica
The good news is that sciatica responds very well to chiropractic treatment. My approach starts with a thorough examination to figure out exactly what's causing the nerve compression. Once we know the root cause, I use a combination of Thompson drop table adjustments and the Activator method to gently realign the spine and take pressure off the sciatic nerve.
These techniques are especially effective because they're precise without being forceful. I'm not twisting or cracking your spine — the Thompson drop table uses a segmented surface that gives way slightly during the adjustment, making it comfortable even when you're in significant pain. Many patients notice improvement after just a few visits.
Beyond adjustments, I'll also work with you on corrective exercises and lifestyle modifications that support your recovery. Things like how you sit at work, how you sleep, and how you lift can all affect sciatic nerve pressure. My goal isn't just to get you out of pain today — it's to help you stay out of pain long-term.
